This Switchel was designed by new mum Bethan, who needed a ‘drink’ but without the alcohol! One to serve with tonic.

Bethan, behind Mother Root, started to make this drink while pregnant as a delicious alcohol-free alternative.

After 10 years of working in the wine trade, I wanted to still feel part of the social scene with friends, and experience something really flavourful and well-crafted. But it was actually life as a new mum - going through all the things that happen in this new stage of life: exhaustion, anxiety, loneliness - that made me realise how much I really needed a feel-good, alcohol-free drink in my life.

So she made one!

Bethan suggests Mother Root is best served chilled over lots of ice with soda or sparkling water. Bottle is 480ml, and recommended portion is 20-25ml to 125ml of mixer.
